The physical education teacher education (PETE) program prepares candidates for a teaching career in school-based PreK-12 South Carolina licensure, provides a fundamental understanding of the science of movement, the development and analysis of motor skills, and the art of teaching a physically active lifestyle.
The program provides sequential field experiences built on conceptual and theoretical knowledge and culminates in a full semester of teaching physical education under the supervision of university and school faculty. Nationally recognized and fully accredited by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) National Standards, the curriculum produces graduates who have the necessary skills, knowledge, and dispositions to teach all children successfully. |
